Big Wave - Victor
"I got the inspiration to make this wave from the tutorial 'Create an Explosive Color Swath' and this picture.
I used a random noise gradient and warped it in to a wave shape. I then used a paintbrush to paint three bands of color and blurred it to mix the colors. After I used different sized brushes with scatter paint out the white water. I duplicated, blurred and colorized the white water layer to have the effect of it glowing."

Liquid Soul - Thomas O.
"I saw a tutorial called Liquid Soul and thought I'd do my own spin on it
with a more dramatic scene using the same ideas from the tutorial. My Rainbow Dude had seamless shading but when I applied some filters I
got a cool grungy look that highlighted the brush strokes on his face
(shadows).
The orbs and rings were from the tutorial . . . they help to divulge the scene in a outlandish manner..eh? The broken glass effect is my absolute favorite effect in Photoshop and it is one I have mastered and created a bit of a new way to do it to give some parts a more realistic see through window look. (which I love)." - Thomas

Hunting Club - Zach O.
"In this project, i started out by adding the wooden background and then darkening the corners/ giving it a gradient overlay. Then I used Hue and Saturation to bring out different colors in the wood. Next, I used the custom shape tool for the shield, and then gave it a drop shadow, inner shadow, and inner glow. Then i used the wood back ground again, and pressed alt. between layers to combine the shape with the wood. I then used the Ellipse tool to create rivets in the wood, also giving them drop shadows, outer glow, and a gradient overlay. After this, I repeated the process for creating the shield to create the the top board of the shield. finally, I added and edited the text, the guns, and faded an emblem into the wood to finish up the project." - Zach O.

Message in a Bottle - Jonathan
"In this picture I took a bottle and applied a few filters to create a
sea-glass effect as well as warped the contents behind the bottle to
make the glass seem real. everything else was just simple
transformations and done to make the beach scene." - Jonathan S.

Submerged Turtle - Evan
"This is my submerged turtle project. I started with a picture of a turtle on a beach and added the ocean top view for a realistic view by using the distort tool and eraser. Then i added the actual underwater scene and darkened the color and blurred it out a bit for a actual water view. Next I added the rocks and trees to transform the turtle into a island. Finally I added the darker sky for a more balanced background to the dark water and turtle." - Evan M.

Anti-Bullying Poster - Nick
"I grabbed a picture of an eye and adjusted the hue and
saturation to cyanotype to get the grey/ light blue color. To add the
tears, I got a picture of a water drop and used free transform to create
the shape. I made a few copies of the tear drop shape and adjusted them
to fit along the bottom of the eye. The person in the pupil came from
another picture I cropped. I added an inner glow to create a little more
shadow around the person. Then I added the text." - Nick

Anti-Bullying Poster
October is Anti-Bullying month, and students in Photoshop 2 created posters to publicize the event.
"First, I went out and took a picture of the upper commons with my cell phone. It was a lousy picture, so I desaturated the whole thing and adjusted the levels. I also painted the sides and back offices black.
Then came the pretty and upset girl with her hand on her head. I cut her out of another picture, desaturated her as well, and stuck her in the middle. I had to re-size to make her proportionally correct with the tables and chairs to her left. Then I adjusted her levels.
Finally I added the words. They are all things that she is feeling from being bullied.
But something was missing. At the time, I was listening to the band Shinedown on my iPod. Their song "Bully" came on. It was perfect. If you have not heard the song, I highly encourage you to listen to it.
I put the lyrics of the chorus in a space at the bottom, and added the song and band names, and
Boom! Anti- bullying poster."

zombie girl halloween project - Nick
Masked in the background. Put in the bunny after erasing background. Added the blood by adding the images, taking out the white and using multiply. I did the left eye with the brush tool to blend it in. For the white eye I replaced it with another image and lined it up with the other eye.

Shadow on the Wall - Jacob
"Took a picture from "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "Assassins Creed 2". This
background was taken from my phone after school last week. Used the pen
tool to cut out Bourne, and stuck him in the middle. Used lots of
Levels, Curves, Brightness, Exposure, The Dodge and Burn Tools, and The
Highpass Filter.
Ezio was second. Cut him out, and desaturated him. I then used the adjustment "Posterize" and set it to its lowest setting. This made the picture only black and white. No in-between. After using the magic wand tool to delete all the white, I was left with a black outline of Ezio. Stuck him on the wall, and used the pen tool to make a black bar to connect him to Bourne. I merged these layers, and duplicated them to have to shadows. I dragged the copy to the shadow on the left and used photo filters and opacity to try to match the color of the shadow. When I had it, deleted the second copy and was left with what you see above." - Jacob

Zombie Ponies--Thomas O.
"The drawing of the main six characters surrounded by a horde of zombie ponies actually started out as a test for my ability to draw different
kinds of expressions and have eyes to go along with them.
What I didn't realize at the time was that this is probably the best of my drawing capability [to date] and the best work I have ever put forth--especially considering how this took me roughly two weeks to learn and draw."
Awesome job Thomas! The eyes and expressions are great--really brings out their characters.
